A youth performing arts company serving dancers ages 7–19 from the Berwyn and Cicero area and neighboring Chicago communities, producing full-length storybook ballets and original dance-theater works throughout the season.
Youth Dance Theater of Greater Chicago (YDTGC) is a nonprofit that cultivates artistic excellence and leadership through rigorous dance training and original, story-driven productions. The 2026–27 season features two full-length storybook ballets: An [Urban] Christmas Carol as their signature holiday program and What the River Remembers for the spring concert. Each production runs 60–90 minutes and welcomes dancers of all experience levels, with meaningful roles for every performer. Young dancers build confidence, stage skills, and lasting memories while performing in full-scale theater productions. The company also performs at community festivals and events to teach commitment and community engagement.
