YMCA Camp Chickami is a traditional day camp located on a beautiful wooded property bordering conservation land in Wayland, Massachusetts. Founded in 1955, the camp serves children entering grades 1-10 (ages 6-14), with Leaders-In-Training programs for those entering grade 10. The camp operates one-week sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with extended care available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for an additional cost. Campers are organized into 18 groups within four age-based units: Pines (grades 1-2), Younger Kids (grades 3-5), Older Girls (grades 6-9), and Older Boys (grades 6-9). The camp offers diverse activities including outdoor adventures, team-building exercises, arts and crafts, nature exploration, and leadership development. Bus pickup and drop-off is available from Newton. The camp was ranked among America's Top 55 Summer Camps in 2024 and received the 2025 Boston Camperoni Award for Best Value for the Money.
