A summer day camp in Silver Spring offering Ethiopian language and cultural immersion for children of all backgrounds. Participants explore Amharic and other Ethiopian languages through interactive lessons, traditional music and dance, handicrafts, storytelling, and cultural etiquette.
Yeneta Language and Cultural Academy's Summer Camp Program runs weekly sessions from late June through July, introducing students to Ethiopian linguistic and cultural heritage. The program combines language instruction in Amharic and other Ethiopian languages with a Cultural Academy Track featuring traditional music and indigenous instruments, cultural dance and performance, handicrafts and creative arts, storytelling and folklore, and Fetele (traditional etiquette and social values). The camp welcomes students of all backgrounds and ability levels, offering engaging lessons and creative workshops that build cultural knowledge and appreciation for Ethiopia's heritage.
