See if kids you know are going to this camp.
A summer day camp in Washington, D.C. teaching handwriting using the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum in small groups by age and readiness level, including specialized instruction for children with dysgraphia, ADHD, and sensory processing differences.
Write Beginnings runs morning sessions from 9:00–11:30 AM, Monday through Thursday, at Key Elementary School in NW Washington, D.C. Children are grouped by age from preschool through middle school, with each group working at their developmental level: preschoolers focus on fine-motor skills and letter awareness, elementary students learn proper letter formation and cursive, and middle schoolers develop fluent handwriting under time pressure. The camp uses the multisensory Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum with hands-on materials like wooden letter pieces and chalkboards before introducing pencil work. Instructors are certified specialists with expertise in dysgraphia, ADHD, and sensory processing, and the program is designed to support children with these learning differences.
