Will County Forest Preserve offers naturalist-led overnight camping programs for organized youth groups at five preserve locations throughout Will County. Groups can book campsite rentals and choose from guided activities including night hikes, day hikes, orienteering, camping basics instruction, and scout badge programs led by interpretive staff.
The Forest Preserve District of Will County operates primitive campsites at five locations: Forked Creek Preserve, Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve, Hickory Creek Preserve, Lake Renwick Preserve, and Monee Reservoir. Youth groups can reserve campsites with access to fire pits, accessible latrines, and water facilities. The district offers naturalist-led programs for camping groups, including night hikes exploring nocturnal wildlife, day hikes with games and exploration, map and compass orienteering exercises, and Camping 101 instruction covering equipment and campfire skills. Scout troops can also book programs designed to fulfill badge requirements using preserve resources and staff expertise.
