A nature-based day camp in Westchester County running weekly sessions from June through August where children in grades 1-6 explore forest habitats, learn wilderness skills like fire-making and shelter-building, and engage in themed activities inspired by storytelling, crafts, and survival games. Also runs: School Break Camps.
Wild Summer operates from late June through late August with weekly Monday-to-Friday sessions from 9am to 3pm at two locations: Croton Point Park and Marsh Sanctuary. The camp serves two age groups: Wanderers (grades 1-2) and Adventurers (grades 3-6). Weekly themes include Tales of the Wild, Enchanted Forest, Forest Alchemy, Stone Age Tinkerers, Forest Craft, Woodland Warriors, and River Explorers. Each group is led by two skilled naturalists with up to fourteen children, emphasizing hands-on learning through direct nature interaction, inquiry-based activities, and collaborative play. Children develop wilderness skills including fire-making, shelter-building, tool-making, foraging, and environmental awareness.
