A full-day summer workshop where children in grades 1–12 learn theatre performance and technical skills including lighting, sound design, props, stage management, set construction, and costumes, culminating in a Saturday performance.
Wheaton Drama's summer workshops build confidence through hands-on experience in creating live theatrical productions. Children choose between performance theatre (learning to perform on stage) or technical theatre (learning about lighting, sound design, props, stage management, set construction, and costumes). Two sessions are offered: Space Pirates for grades 1–5 and Moana Jr for grades 5–12. Each week-long session runs full-day from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm or 4:30 pm, with students bringing sack lunches. All staff members are certified teachers who have undergone extensive background checks. Sessions conclude with a Saturday morning performance.
