The Whaling Museum offers week-long summer camps from 9 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday, in August. Each day includes open workshop time, themed activities exploring the ocean, touching collection artifacts and objects, active games, creative art-making, and hands-on exploration. Children may take a lunch break outdoors (weather permitting) and end each day completing an art project to take home. Some weeks include a 10-minute walk to the village harbor for science experiments and wildlife observation. The museum's seasoned educators lead camp with an adult-to-child ratio of 1:7 or better. Two themed sessions are offered: Maritime Marvels and History's Mysteries.
