A four-week intensive arts residency program held each July through August where artists develop creative projects, collaborate with peers, and participate in workshops, lectures, and exhibitions. The program provides free participation, housing, meals, and travel stipends for accepted artists.

The Watermill Center's International Summer Program runs annually from early July through early August, hosting artists from around the world. Participants work on individual creative projects and collaborate with fellow artists while attending workshops, lectures, and movement sessions. The program includes access to the Watermill Center Collection and Library of Inspiration. Daily activities begin with a morning meeting around 9:45 AM and conclude after dinner around 9:30 PM. Participants stay in double or triple-occupancy rooms on-site or in nearby rental houses. All meals are provided by an on-site chef, with local transportation included. Selected artists present works during the festival, though participants are also free to develop new projects that emerge through collaboration and exchange during the four-week residency.
