Waldron Mercy Academy Summer Service

Each summer, Waldron Mercy Academy selects rising 8th grade students to participate in an integrative social service week in Philadelphia and surrounding communities. Students work at local centers such as MANNA, Mercy Neighborhood Ministries, The Aquinas Center, The Center for Environmental Transformation, The Saint Francis Inn, and other nonprofits serving the community. Participants work together with teachers and community partners, engage in direct service and outreach ministry, and reflect on the experience through the lens of faith. Students apply in spring by responding to prompts about their interest in service, hopes, concerns, and understanding of what service means.
