A nine-week summer reading program offering individual tutoring, small group sessions, and book clubs designed to help children maintain and advance their reading skills during the break from school.
The Reading Whisperer's Summer Reading Club runs for nine weeks during summer with weekday sessions between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Students participate in 50-minute individual tutoring sessions, small group sessions, or book club groups focused on reading comprehension and discussion. The program, started in 2012, uses a personalized curriculum tailored to each child's reading level and needs, serving both beginning and advanced readers. Book club members read 50 pages of the same book at home each week and meet to discuss and answer questions about their reading.
