A six-week summer camp running July through early August where students build projects each week, from boats and films to games, plays, and zines, with each week culminating in a finished product showcased to an audience.
The Learning Tree Summer Camp runs for six weeks during July and the first week of August from 9:00 to 3:00 each day. The camp is open to students from any school and focuses on project-based learning across the school's seven labs. Week one students build a boat that floats and carries a brick; week two involves shooting a two-minute film; week three includes coding a game and play-testing it; week four stages a ten-minute play; week five maps Flushing through interviews, photos and a zine; and week six covers kitchen chemistry and an end-of-summer bake. Each week concludes with the finished project being shown.
