Summer workshops for teens ages 13-17 held at Columbia High School in Maplewood, offering two-week and multi-day sessions in filmmaking, photography, pottery, painting, creative writing, songwriting, and acting during June through August.
The Teen Summer Workshops program offers small group sessions with personalized instruction across multiple creative disciplines. Students can take individual workshops or combine multiple sessions. Filmmaking workshops (two two-week sessions in June-July) cover shot composition, camera work, and short film creation using professional equipment. Photography workshops teach 35mm film development and darkroom printing. Clay lab and mixed media workshops (four days each) focus on hand-building pottery and acrylic painting with mixed media. A songwriting intensive covers music production, lyrics, melodies, and recording. Creative writing workshops explore poetry, short story, and memoir. An acting workshop covers audition skills. All sessions feature hands-on learning and instructor guidance.
