A visual arts program for high school students offering summer, fall, and spring sessions with college-level instruction from SVA faculty. Students earn college credits, build portfolios, and experience New York City cultural activities including museums, Broadway shows, and city walking tours.
SVA Pre-College is designed for high school students seeking to develop creative skills and explore art and design at a college level. The program offers three credits for successful completion of the summer program and one credit for fall or spring sessions. All courses are taught by the same industry-leading faculty who teach undergraduate students at the School of Visual Arts. Students explore fundamentals of art and design not readily available in high school and build strong portfolios for college admissions. The program emphasizes independence and engagement, with residential housing available in SVA Residence Halls in Manhattan. Students are encouraged to attend extracurricular activities including movie nights, trivia nights, museum outings, and Broadway shows. The fall and spring programs are open to students 14-18 years old enrolled in high school; the summer program is open to students entering their freshman through senior year of high school.
