A summer tennis camp for ages 5–13 running Monday through Thursday, July 13–31, with instruction structured around skill development, game-based drills, and weekly competition, offered at Newark Academy's courts. Also runs: Mott-Leeney Baseball Camp.
Newark Academy's Summer Tennis Camp provides top-notch instruction for students ages 5–13 of all skill levels. The camp runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (with Fridays available as makeup days for inclement weather) from mid-July through the end of July. Each week is structured with Mondays dedicated to learning and development of technical fundamentals, Tuesdays and Wednesdays featuring game-based drills and match scenarios, and Thursdays focused on competition and team spirit, including the signature Newark Academy Cup Day where campers compete on teams for the coveted cup. Students are grouped using the USTA's ROGY development system based on age and ability, with a 5:1 student-to-instructor ratio. The camp is staffed by local high school and college tennis players who are CPR and First Aid certified. Before care (8:00 AM–9:00 AM) and after care (2:00 PM–3:45 PM) are available.
