An inclusive summer day camp for children in grades K-6 with disabilities, offering recreational activities including games, arts and crafts, and swimming with individualized support based on each child's needs. Also runs: L.I.T. (Leadership In Training) Summer Camp.
Summer @ the J is the Friedberg JCC's inclusive summer camp that welcomes children with varying disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, speech and language delays, and other developmental delays. The program offers fun recreational activities, arts and crafts, swimming, and opportunities for children to engage in their interests and socialize with peers. Placement is determined through an intake process and review of disability-related documentation. The program maintains typical staff-to-camper ratios of 1:3, with limited availability for 1:2 or 1:1 ratios. An inclusion specialist oversees the program.
