Summer at Columbia is a four-week intensive program for high school students ages 15–18 interested in exploring arts, media, and communications. Students take college-level courses taught by Columbia faculty, earn transferable credits, and gain insight into creative industry careers.
Summer at Columbia offers high school students the opportunity to take freshmen-level college courses in their creative discipline, taught by Columbia's faculty of working filmmakers, artists, designers, and other creative practitioners. The program includes weekday lunch and access to Columbia facilities and resources. Participants engage with the Columbia community during on-campus events and learn about student resources including the Career Center, Student Financial Services, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarships covering up to 50% of program costs. If students enroll at Columbia College Chicago as undergraduates, the credits earned during Summer at Columbia count toward their degree.
