The camp combines chess instruction at all skill levels with imaginative adventures, sportsmanship training, and hands-on gameplay throughout each day. Also runs: Story Time Chess Holiday Camps.
Story Time Chess runs week-long summer camps at its Park Slope location. Each day runs from 9 am to 3 pm, with optional extended hours until 5 pm. The schedule includes chess classes grouped by age and experience level, the Birchguard Quest role-playing game, outdoor playground time, sportsmanship seminars, and movement-based adventure training. All materials are provided, and children aged 3–10 are welcome whether they are beginners or already play chess. The camp uses the organization's signature story-based learning method to teach critical thinking, confidence, and strategic reasoning alongside the game itself.
