A child-directed day camp in Brooklyn where kids ages 4-12 choose their own activities daily from options including coding, sewing, animation, robotics, baking, sports, and water play, with flexible daily attendance and included meals.
Steve & Kate's Camp operates at Berkeley Carroll Upper School in Park Slope, running from late June through early August. The camp philosophy emphasizes child autonomy—campers select which activities to pursue, whom to work with, and how long to spend on each. The daily schedule includes stop-motion animation, sewing, coding, robotics, a tinker lab, baking, sports, water play, and weekly special events. Camp runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and parents can purchase any number of days and choose which days to send their child. Meals and snacks are included, and unused days receive automatic refunds at summer's end.
