A four-day residential rowing camp at Harvard University where teenage rowers train with collegiate coaching staff, participate in skill assessments and twice-daily water sessions, and learn from current Harvard undergraduates. The camp emphasizes technical instruction, small-group peer learning, and reflection on rowing performance.
Sparks Harvard Rowing Camp runs four-day sessions at Harvard's boathouse on the Charles River in Cambridge. Campers arrive on campus, are assigned to residential dorms, and participate in an initial assessment to determine their training group by position and skill level. The program includes twice-daily water training sessions combined with one-on-one coaching, small-group meetings, and evening seminars on topics ranging from ergometer technique to college recruiting. Coxswains attend a separate curriculum with dedicated coaching staff, and Learn to Row participants have their own dedicated coach throughout camp. The camp emphasizes the philosophy that rowing can help athletes become better people, combining top-tier technical instruction with peer-driven small groups and opportunities to meet current Harvard rowers. All meals, lodging, and camp gear are included in the camp fee.
