A summer day camp for ages 5–13 running Monday–Friday from late June through late August, featuring STEAM activities, field trips, team building, and project-based learning with curriculum centered on weekly themes.
The Somerville YMCA SACC (School-Age Child Care) Summer Program serves children ages 5–13 from June 22–August 28 each year. The program operates Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:45 pm, with drop-off between 7:45–8:45 am. The curriculum features STEAM programming (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) delivered through Arly by BellXcel, with literacy and social-emotional learning integrated throughout. Children participate in carefully planned field trips twice weekly connected to weekly themes, outdoor play at local playgrounds and fields, visits to the Somerville Community Garden and Public Library, and older children utilize Somerville High School for off-site activities. The program includes team building and project-based activities. All groups have access to indoor gym space and computers. The program runs 10 single-week sessions, with meals provided and staff trained to meet all state licensing requirements.
