Shine Avi HOPE Boot Camp

Shine Avi's HOPE (Help Our Parents Educate) Boot Camp is a 2-hour program designed specifically for children in the autism spectrum. Each session is divided into five segments: greeting time and calendar with music, 45 minutes of one-on-one instruction with a trained aide working on individualized curriculum based on the child's IEP, a 15-minute snack break, 40 minutes of social skills group activities focusing on language development, teamwork and relationship building, and 20 minutes of gross motor activities and games. The program curriculum addresses cognitive skills, language development, academics, behavior, sensory needs, social skills and fine/gross motor development. Trained staff aides, many of whom are experienced parents of children in the autism spectrum, work directly with students and share progress reports with parents.
