A waterfront summer day camp in Evanston for children ages 4+ that meets at Burnham Park and Lee Street Beach, featuring daily beach time, outdoor activities, crafts, songs and stories across two sessions in June and July. Also runs: School for Little Children SLC On-Site Camp, School for Little Children Spanish Camp, School for Little Children Toddler Time Camp.
Summer Beach Camp at School for Little Children offers children ages 4 and up the opportunity to spend mornings at the lakefront during summer. Campers begin their day at Burnham Park near Dempster Street, where they participate in crafts, games, songs, and stories in shaded areas before walking to Lee Street Beach for water play and swimming. The camp operates during two three-week sessions in June and July, with flexible scheduling options available three or four days per week. Teachers maintain a 5:1 child-to-teacher ratio, and in case of inclement weather, camp relocates to the school building.
