Single-day theatre camps where children in PreK-6th grade improvise, write skits, learn scenes from Disney and Broadway productions, and perform in a showcase. Offered during school closures throughout the year, with themed weeks in summer featuring movies like Wicked, Aladdin, Hamilton, and Moana.
Sawubona Creativity Project offers one-day theatre camps when schools are closed. Campers spend the full day from 8:30am to 5:30pm learning improv games, watching and learning scenes from popular Disney movies and Broadway plays, dancing, writing original skits, and performing in a live showcase at 5:05pm for family and friends. The camp is designed for students in grades PreK through 6th grade. Summer 2026 features themed weeks including Wicked, K-Pop Demon Hunters, The Descendants, Aladdin, Encanto, Hamilton, Mulan, and Moana 2. A spring break camp is also offered. Children should bring a full lunch and snacks, wear comfortable clothes for movement, and non-slip shoes. Staff includes 2-4 adult staff members including teaching artists and teacher aides. Participation in the live show is optional; students who prefer not to perform can record their performance instead. The camp takes several breaks throughout the day and includes a one-hour lunch break with access to an outdoor patio.
