A learn-to-row summer camp for middle and high school students (rising 7th-11th grade) offering one and two-week sessions in Manhattan and Queens. Campers learn sculling fundamentals on rowing machines and the water, with no prior experience required.
Row New York's summer camp welcomes beginners and experienced rowers for a two-hour daily program running Monday through Friday. Campers begin with land training on rowing machines (ergometers) to master technique and safety, then progress to on-water instruction with coaches leading drills and training sessions. The camp includes fitness and stretching work, with a friendly scrimmage at the end of the session. Rising 7th-8th graders attend 9:00-11:00 a.m., and rising 9th-11th graders attend 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Participants from households earning under $100,000 annually row for free.
