A summer theatre camp in Malvern where young artists develop performance skills through immersive week-long and multi-week sessions, working alongside professional theatre artists to create original performances and showcase their work on stage.
People's Light Summer Studios offers non-audition summer theatre programs for grades 2 and up, as well as an audition-only Performance Lab conservatory program for teens in grades 8 to pre-college. Students work under the mentorship of experienced teaching artists on the seven-acre campus in Malvern. Programs include Theatre Toolkits (one-week samplers exploring different aspects of theatre-making), Story Finders (a two-week program for grades 2-4 where students create original plays), World Builders (a three-week program for grades 5-8 focusing on acting, writing, and choreography), and Performance Lab (a three-week intensive musical theatre program with voice, choreography, and acting training culminating in a mainstage showcase). Extended morning and afternoon drop-off times are available. Need-based scholarships are provided for all programs.
