A day camp for children ages 6-11 combining horseback riding lessons, horse care instruction, and barn activities at an equestrian facility on Chicago's North Shore. Sessions run Tuesday through Friday, with daily riding lessons and activities like crafts, games, and learning about horses.
Palladia Farm Summer Camp offers week-long sessions throughout the summer at their 15-acre facility. Children ages 6-11 participate in daily 30-45 minute semi-private or group riding lessons, learning to safely handle, groom, and ride horses regardless of prior experience. Beginners learn basic horsemanship skills including haltering, leading, mounting, and riding at walk and trot. More advanced riders work on tack care, recognizing horse breeds and colors, and canter and jumping skills. Between lessons, campers enjoy clubroom activities, barn exploration, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and games. A low staff-to-camper ratio ensures individual attention from instructors and horses.
