Free seven-week summer day camps for children ages 5-13 across New York City's five boroughs, featuring academic enrichment, arts learning, physical fitness activities, field trips, and special events from 8am to 6pm Monday through Friday.
PAL Summer Day Camps provide positive mentorship and supervision during the summer months for children living in communities facing high rates of poverty and crime. Over seven weeks, children engage in a rotating schedule of academic enrichment, arts learning, and physical fitness activities including team-based athletic tournaments and sports fundamentals instruction. The program includes frequent field trips and special events that introduce campers to youth from other communities and cultural resources across the city. Camps open with an annual Carnival and conclude with Culture Day, a project-based learning experience where children present what they learned about the summer's citywide educational theme. Participants benefit from increased physical activity, engagement in the arts, decreased summer learning loss, and improved communication skills and self-esteem.
