NYCDA Summer Pre-Professional Intensive

The NYC Dance Alliance Pre-Professional Intensive is a 6-day intimate training opportunity for dancers ages 14-19 held at Pace University in Manhattan. The program focuses on reinforcing and augmenting each dancer's existing technique while exploring new dance vocabulary in classroom and rehearsal settings. Dancers can attend one or both weeks, with guest faculty and choreographers differing each week. The curriculum includes ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, modern, musical theater, hip hop, voice, injury prevention, auditioning, and yoga. Special industry seminars feature Broadway choreographers, casting directors, dance company members, nutritionists, and physical therapists. Audition workshops have included productions like "Wicked," "Hamilton," and "MJ, The Musical." Each session ends with an informal in-studio showcase with a small live audience and livestream for out-of-town family.
