A six-week summer camp at The Nicholson School in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood offering themed weeks focused on art expression, Spanish language, science, music, reader's theater, and conservation. Sessions run Monday through Friday mornings with lunch included.
Young Learners Summer Camp provides six separate themed weeks during summer 2023. Week 1 features art expression with multi-medium, hands-on exploration to develop fine motor skills and creativity. Week 2 introduces Spanish language and culture through play, stories, songs, and movement. Week 3 explores earth sciences with indoor and outdoor experiments and sensory activities. Week 4 offers music exploration including singing, dancing, rhythm patterns, and cultural musical traditions. Week 5 presents reader's theater where children read stories and act them out to strengthen pre-reading skills and develop empathy. Week 6 focuses on conservation through recycling and creating with everyday items and neighborhood scavenger hunt finds. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm with lunch provided by Gourmet Gorilla.
