Overnight camps of two to five days for young people living with cancer, HIV, and rare genetic disorders. Campferences combine peer community, skill-building workshops on topics like disease management and independence, and recreational activities like music, games, and campfire gatherings.
Next Step Campferences are overnight programs created by and for young people living with similar diagnoses including cancer, HIV, and rare genetic disorders. The programs blend camp activities with conference-style learning, featuring workshops on topics such as navigating social situations, disease management at college, budgeting, independence skills, and career preparation. Activities include music sessions, campfire gatherings, games, karaoke, and friendship-building. Participants form connections with peers who share similar health experiences and return home knowing they are part of a supportive community.
