A three-week summer intensive ballet camp for ages 11 and up in Marblehead, Massachusetts, featuring daily ballet, modern technique, and related dance disciplines, with choreography and performance in the final week.
Marblehead School of Ballet runs its Summer Intensive from July 13–31 each summer, accepting dancers of all levels from recreational to pre-professional. Students choose to attend one, two, or all three weeks. The program emphasizes correct alignment, musicality, and a graded approach to training. Week 1 and 2 include daily ballet classes, modern technique, Pilates, pointe, variations, and related disciplines like jazz. Week 3 focuses on choreography and rehearsals, culminating in a performance on Saturday, August 1. Classes run Monday–Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with a lunch break. The school attracts dancers nationally and internationally to its Marblehead location on Massachusetts's scenic North Shore.
