A seven-week summer day camp in Brooklyn serving children ages 2–10, featuring weekly exploration of African diaspora regions through field trips, science, art, gardening, cooking, and outdoor play.
The Cultural Explorers Summer Program runs for seven weeks during summer months at Little Sun People, a community child care center founded in 1980. Each week explores different regions of the African diaspora, including Egypt, East Africa, South Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, New Orleans, and New York City. Children participate in field trips, science activities, outdoor exploration, gardening, art, three-dimensional sculpting, writing, poetry, and cooking classes.
