A small-group summer day camp in Annandale for children ages 6–12 combining karate training with Japanese language, calligraphy, cultural activities, games, and mindfulness in a structured, relationship-centered environment.
KICK™ (Kids Interdisciplinary Culture & Karate) is Seichou Karate's intentionally small summer day camp limited to 12 children per session. Each day includes karate training, Japanese language instruction through games and role-playing, cultural activities such as origami and calligraphy, obstacle courses and team challenges, quiet time for reflection, and social discussion. The program emphasizes developing focus, resilience, confidence, and self-discipline while introducing children to Japanese culture and etiquette. Director Richard Romero, a Columbia University graduate with over 50 years of martial arts experience and five years living in Japan, oversees the program.
