A week-long summer camp in New York City where middle and high school students volunteer with older adults through creative activities, games, and service projects while exploring JASA sites across the boroughs and developing leadership skills.
JASANextGen's Summer Service Learning Program runs for one week in August, bringing students in grades 6-12 together for a hands-on experience serving older New Yorkers. Each day, participants travel from JASA's Manhattan headquarters to different sites across the city to connect with seniors through creative activities, games, art projects, senior carnivals or proms, and community service. Students build friendships with fellow volunteers, strengthen leadership and teamwork skills, earn community service hours, and explore New York City's diversity while making a real impact on older adults' lives.
