A French and Spanish language immersion day camp in Brooklyn for rising Pre-K 4 through 5th grade students. Weekly sessions in July combine language learning with themed activities including nature study, NYC history, and cultural exploration, with small groups of up to 18 children per counselor team.
ISB's Summer Language Immersion Program runs four weekly sessions in July, each built around a theme that incorporates French or Spanish learning into daily routines, songs, and vocabulary. Week 1 explores flora and fauna with a visit from a wildlife rescuer; Week 2 examines the Lenape people and Dutch New York with a field trip to the New Amsterdam exhibit at the NY Historical Society; Week 3 visits the New York Hall of Science for Cityworks; and Week 4 celebrates Hispanophone and Francophone cultures through song, story, and food. All children enjoy weekly gardening sessions, and Pre-K 4 through Grade 2 participants attend weekly music-filled fitness sessions with Zing!. The program welcomes both beginners and native speakers, with experienced educators creating a warm, personalized learning environment.
