An indoor summer day camp for ages 5–12 combining 90 minutes of painting and crafting at The Painted Penguin art studio with 90 minutes exploring walk-through 3D hologram tunnels at Hologram Zoo Illinois, plus a supervised lunch and take-home STEM kit, running three daily sessions June through August at Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills.
This partnership program blends creative studio time with high-tech discovery in one air-conditioned, weather-proof experience. Children spend 90 minutes at The Painted Penguin creating with painting, crafting, and art supplies, then 90 minutes at Hologram Zoo Illinois walking through 60-foot laser-light environments featuring dinosaurs, ocean, space, and world animals — all without VR headsets, just lightweight 3D glasses. A supervised social lunch break and weekly take-home interactive building block STEM kit are included. Three 3-hour session times run daily: 9 AM–12 PM, 12 PM–3 PM, and 3 PM–6 PM. The program operates June 14 through August 28, serving families across Chicago and the north suburbs.
