Harvard Medical School's week-long summer camps for high school students combining hands-on medical simulation, clinical skills training, and healthcare career exploration through programs in emergency medicine, laboratory research, forensics, dental medicine, and medical technology.
HMS MEDscience offers immersive week-long summer programs at Harvard Medical School where high school students learn medicine through simulated medical emergencies and hands-on clinical training. MEDscienceClinical immerses students in state-of-the-art emergency room simulation, teaching skills like suturing, intubation, and IV insertion while working alongside physicians, nurses, and medical students. MEDscienceLAB combines medical simulation with actual research lab work, connecting patient care to diagnosis and problem-solving. MEDscienceLAB Forensics teaches crime-solving through hands-on investigation and laboratory analysis. MEDscienceDental exposes students to clinical medicine and dentistry skills. MEDscienceTECH builds solutions to medical technology problems through design thinking, computer science, and artificial intelligence. All programs emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork through peer discussion and student-led activities. Programs run Monday through Friday with variable hours, and shorter 4-day options are available. Scholarships are available for Greater Boston area students.
