Three mini speed skating camps in June, July, and August where skaters work on strength, technique, and power through dryland and ice sessions with guest Olympian coaches, plus customized off-ice training plans between sessions.
Glen Ellyn Speedskating Club hosts three 4.5-hour mini camps designed for novice to advanced skaters. Each camp focuses on a different aspect of speed skating: Camp 1 emphasizes building strength and endurance in the skating position with guest coaches Mia Manganello and Emery Lehman; Camp 2 covers building and maintaining pressure throughout the skating stroke with Katherine Reutter-Adamek; and Camp 3 focuses on explosive power with Hong Yu and Gao Ming. Each session includes dryland training, ice skating instruction, and an education component. Between camps, participants receive a customized off-ice training plan with all necessary equipment included. Light snacks are provided after ice sessions.
