A seven-week Portuguese-immersion summer day camp in Brooklyn exploring Brazil's Nordeste region through music, dance, crafts, food tastings, and outdoor activities in Fort Greene Park for children ages 2–7.
GIRAFAS Summer Camp runs from June 22 to August 7, 2026, offering an immersive cultural journey focused on Brazil's Northeastern region. Children explore the traditions of the nine states of the Nordeste through hands-on activities including authentic food tastings, regional music and dance, crafts, and creative play, many held outdoors at nearby Fort Greene Park. The camp follows a daily routine beginning at 9:00 am with arrival and working time, transitioning to park activities, guided lessons, lunch, rest time, and afternoon snack before 3:00 pm dismissal. Optional early drop-off at 8:00 am is available. The programme celebrates diversity and encourages discovery through a child-centered approach aligned with Montessori principles.
