Week-long day camps at a Long Island geology and archaeology museum where children explore nature through hands-on activities including aquatic science, animal adaptations, environmental conservation, art inspired by nature, paleontology, and Native American culture.
Garvies Point Museum offers six different themed week-long day camps during summer 2026, each running Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sessions include Aquatic Adventures (exploring pond and shoreline ecosystems), Awesome Animals (learning animal adaptations and habitats), Eco-Explorers (environmental protection and engineering), Mud, Sticks & Masterpieces (natural inspiration for art), Time Travelers (geology, archaeology, and paleontology), and Native American Culture & our Natural World (ancient technology, fire-making, pottery, and foraging). All programs feature hands-on discovery, nature games, scavenger hunts, hiking, experiments, and team-building activities both indoors and outdoors. A complimentary t-shirt is provided for nature printing activities.
