A family-owned Chicago day camp running since 1994 where children in grades K-8 attend weekly sessions with age-grouped activities, swimming instruction, field trips, and recreation. The camp operates at DePaul University with before and after-care options available.
Fred's Camp is a Chicago summer tradition founded by educator Fred Greenburg to bring the spirit of overnight camp to a day camp setting in Lincoln Park. The camp serves children from kindergarten through eighth grade, organized into three age-based programs: Junior Camp (K-1st grade), Senior Camp (2-4th grades), and Tween Camp (5-8th grades). Each division offers age-appropriate activities and experiences designed to build confidence and create lasting friendships. The camp includes swimming instruction through an American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim Program with a 4:1 ratio, field trips, and daily recreation. Camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended care available until 6 p.m. The 2027 session runs June 14 through August 6.
