A summer programme for grades 7-12 students that combines academic learning with recreational activities, career exploration, and internship opportunities. Students participate in field trips including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and visits to local employers and institutions.
Farr Academy's Summer School serves current students and those entering in the fall, maintaining the school's therapeutic learning approach while incorporating summer recreational experiences. The program weaves together academic coursework with recreational field trips such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, ice-skating, bowling, and museum exploration. Students also participate in a Career Explorations Curriculum that includes classroom instruction, field trips to job sites, and visits to area colleges and employers such as Google, iRobot, the Cambridge Fire Department, and local factories. Employment and internship opportunities are available, with Farr staff providing guidance and supervision.
