The Fajr Memorial Foundation offers swim lessons for children of all ages and skill levels, from beginner through stroke improvement, along with water safety workshops and drowning prevention training. The organization serves diverse communities across NYC and Long Island without financial barriers.
Founded in 2011 in memory of nine-year-old Fajr Javid, the foundation provides swimming instruction designed to build lifesaving skills and water confidence in children. Programs include structured swim lessons for all ages and levels, interactive water safety workshops focused on hazard recognition and emergency response, CPR and rescue training for families and community leaders, and scholarships to ensure financial barriers do not prevent any child from learning to swim. The foundation has served over 10 diverse communities across NYC and Long Island.
