A 5-week summer program for students with learning disabilities that combines academic instruction in reading, writing and math with camp activities like kayaking, swimming, ropes course and arts and crafts, plus transition and vocational services.
Clearway School's summer program runs for 24 days from late June through July, combining structured academics with a camp-like experience. Students take morning academic classes using Orton-Gillingham reading instruction alongside writing and math, then participate in elective activities and field experiences. The program emphasizes transition skills, pragmatic language and social skills development. Typical summer activities include kayaking, swimming, surfing, ropes course, circus arts, arts and crafts, college tours, service learning trips and work-study opportunities.
