See if kids you know are going to this camp.
A week-long pottery summer camp for ages 9-16 where students learn wheel-throwing and handbuilding techniques, create functional pottery, and keep up to 10 of their finished pieces.
ClayHouse Brooklyn's summer camp offers instruction in both pottery wheel and handbuilding for children ages 9-16. Students learn fundamentals like wedging, centering, lifting and trimming on the wheel, as well as slab, coil and pinching techniques for handbuilding. Each participant receives individualized instruction based on their experience level from accomplished ceramics instructors. Students create pottery throughout the week, select their 10 favorite pieces, choose glaze colors, and the staff fires and glazes the work to be food-safe and microwave-safe for pickup about 4 weeks after camp ends. Optional snacks are available daily.
