A free overnight bereavement camp in New Hampshire for girls ages 9-13 who have lost a parent, combining traditional camp activities like swimming, kayaking, tennis, and archery with grief support led by professional bereavement staff.
Circle of Fleur de Lis brings together the value of overnight camp experiences with grief work in a safe and caring setting. Campers participate in traditional overnight camp activities including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, tennis, archery, arts and crafts, and softball and basketball, along with singing around the campfire. Under the guidance of professional bereavement staff, surrounded by supportive peers, campers can share their stories and remember the parent who has died. The program is entirely free, and transportation is provided.
