See if kids you know are going to this camp.
A two-week immersion camp where children ages 8-13 learn conversational and written Hindi through games, cultural activities, field trips, and hands-on learning. Students practice Hindi in real-life situations, participate in cultural celebrations, and enjoy Indian meals while building friendships through the language.
Balodyan, founded in 1998, has conducted seven free STARTALK summer Hindi camps in collaboration with Chinmaya Mission Chicago since 2015 in the Chicagoland area. The camp offers a nurturing environment where students learn to converse and connect in simple Hindi, read and write Hindi script, and engage with Indian culture through games like kho-kho and carrom, Kathak and Bharatanatyam dance, tabla, meditation, tie-dye crafts, field trips to temples and cultural centers, and cultural celebrations including Diwali and Holi. Students are provided healthy vegetarian Indian meals. The 2011 camp was a 10-day, 50-student program with the theme "Friends Rock through Hindi Talk."
