A summer day camp for musicians ages 7-18 at American Music Institute in Clarendon Hills where students study music theory, composition, and performance with faculty from top conservatories, performing daily.
Chicago Summer Music Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9am–3pm, with optional aftercare until 5:30pm. The camp curriculum includes music appreciation covering Baroque to pop/rock styles, composition and original music creation, group lessons, improvisation, chamber music, and performance classes. All camp classes are general music group classes rather than private instruction, designed for all instruments and all skill levels. Students create, rehearse, and perform music together daily, with each day concluding in a performance class where campers share their own compositions and learn from one another. The camp is led by American Music Institute's award-winning faculty and designed to build musical foundation, confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
