A play-based summer day camp for children ages 3-5 featuring weekly themes inspired by children's books, with art, outdoor play, water activities, and hands-on exploration. Sessions run June through August.
Chappaqua Summer Friends offers flexible one-week sessions from June 29 through August 14, with camp running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily, plus optional extended care until 1:00 p.m. Each week is themed around a beloved illustrated children's book that inspires the week's art, cooking, play, experiments, and games. The program emphasizes child-led learning where counselors follow children's curiosity and interests. Campers explore classrooms with blocks, sensory activities, and art materials; spend an hour daily on the playground and meadow; enjoy outdoor snack time; and gather for closing sing-alongs. The camp is led by experienced director Sasha Siegelbaum, with counselors trained in CPR/First Aid and child-centered teaching.
